The Pope had just finished a tour of the East Coast and was taking a limousine to the airport.

Having never driven a limo, he asked the chauffeur if he could drive for awhile. Well, the chauffeur didn't have much of a choice, so the chauffeur climbs in the back of the limo and the Pope takes the wheel.

The Pope proceeds to hop on 95 and starts accelerating to see what the limo could do. Well he gets to about 90 mph and, WHAM !, there are the blue lights of our friendly State Patrol in his mirror.

He pulls over and the trooper comes to his window. Well the trooper, seeing who it was, says "just a moment please I need to call in."

The trooper radio's in and asks for the chief. He tells the chief "I've got a REALLY important person pulled over and I need to know what to do."

The chief replies "Who is it, not Ted again ?" The trooper says, " No, even more important." The chief replies, "It's the Governor, is it ?", the trooper replies "No, even more important." "It isn't the President, is it ?" "No, more important", replies the trooper.

"Well WHO the HECK is it !", screams the chief.

"I don't know " says the trooper. "But he's got the Pope as a chauffeur."

이제 막 미국 동부 방문을 마친 교황이 공항까지 리무진을 타고 가게 됐다.

한번도 리무진을 몰아본적 없는 그가 운전 기사에게 리무진을 잠시 자기가 몰아도 되냐고 묻자, 거절할 수가 없었던 기사는 리무진 뒤로 가고 핸들을 교황에게 넘겼다.

교황은 95번 도로로 가더니 리모의 최대 성능을 알아본다며 속력을 내기 시작했다. 시속 90마일쯤으로 달리고 있는데, 아니 이런! 백미러에 우리의 친절한 교통 순찰 아저씨의 차에서 나오는 파란 불빛이 보이는 것이었다.

그가 차를 세우자 다가온 경찰은, 그가 누군지 알아보고 "잠깐만요. 전화좀 해야 겠습니다."라고 말했다.

무전기로 경찰 서장과 연결된 그는 "정말 높은 사람의 차를 세웠는데, 어떻게 해야 할 지 모르겠습니다."라고 말했다.

서장이 "누군데, 또 테드는 아니겠지?"라고답하자, 그 경찰은 "아니요, 그보다 훨씬 더 높은데요."라고 말했다. "그럼 주지사인가?"라고 서장이 묻자 경찰관은 "아니요, 그보다 훨씬 더 높은 사람입니다."라고 대답했다. "그럼 대통령인가?"라고 서장이 묻자 "아니요, 더 높은 사람입니다."라고 경찰관이 대답했다.

"제기랄, 그럼 누구야!"라고 서장이 소리쳤다.

그 경찰관은 "저도 모르겠습니다. 하지만 교황을 기사로 둘 정도입니다."라고 말했다.
